Parents,
When your son joins Lambda Chi Alpha, you become part of the chapter too. Here is what you should know about safety, academics, and cost, and how to reach us directly.
Safety
First, know that Lambda Chi Alpha does not have pledges, and we do not haze our associate members. In 1972 it became the first national fraternity to abolish pledging, and this chapter holds to that.
The chapter also has an elected officer dedicated to member and event safety, risk management, and incident planning. He is mentored by an alumnus volunteer, and a written safety plan for every social event is reviewed and approved by the Alumni Control Board before the event happens.
The chapter house was remodeled in 2026 and now includes: security fencing around the entire property; exterior security cameras and lighting; keypad locks on every entrance and every bedroom door; and a kitchen that meets the building code for a multi-resident dwelling.
Academics
Likewise, the chapter has an elected officer dedicated to academic achievement, scholarship, and career development.
The strongest evidence of the chapter’s commitment to academics is the brothers themselves: several carry a 4.0 grade-point average, and many more are above 3.5.
Fall 2025 academic achievements Spring 2026 academic achievements
Every brother must hold at least a 2.5 grade-point average. A member who falls below 2.5 is placed on academic probation by the chapter and is restricted from attending social events.
What it costs
Membership costs are published on the Join page and reviewed each term. For Fall 2026, an associate member pays $850 ($615 due October 5 and a $235 initiation fee due the first day of I-Week), and an initiated brother pays $800, due October 5. Housing is separate and billed on its own; dues do not cover formals or other chapter events, which are paid for as they come up. Ask us for current housing rates and we will share them.
