Founding & Colony Era

1948 – 1952

The colony held its first meeting on March 22, 1948 — Lambda Chi Alpha Day — with six men at its nucleus and Dr. Ralph F. Evans as faculty sponsor. Six had become seventeen by the end of the first semester, and by the spring of 1949 the colony had a house on North Van Ness Avenue.
